Going global: China Attractions Expo

On March 18, the 2015 China Attractions Expo (CAE) opened its doors at the National Convention Centre in Beijing. Organised by the China Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (CAAPA), the three-day expo attracted some 22,000 visitors.

Feng Yuguo, secretary general of CAPPA, cut the ribbon on the 25th annual CAE, which welcomed more than 310 exhibitors, of which around 25 per cent came from abroad, including the US, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Russia, Turkey, India and UAE.

Exhibitors included manufacturers of large attractions and rides; large water rides; theatres; video games; smaller rides for children; indoor rides; film and television devices; access control systems; security equipment; theme park operations management consulting; training institutions; mobile carnival facilities; inflatable products; and theme park planning and construction.

Visitors included commercial real estate companies; real estate developers; theme park investors and operators; waterpark investors and operators; government departments; and private park operators.
